Christopher Rittmeyer, MD, MPH - CO-FOUNDER VICE-CHAIR

Dr. Rittmeyer was born in Rochester, New York, and received a B.S. from Cornell University, as well as an M.D. and an M.P.H. in Epidemiology from Johns Hopkins University. He spent one summer working at ICDDRB in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and two months in Tuba City, Arizona, and Gallup, New Mexico, with the Indian Health Service. He completed his residency in Pediatrics and fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology at the University of North Carolina Children's Hospital.

In his career, Dr. Rittmeyer has held several positions, including past chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Memorial Health in Savannah, GA. He has also taught pediatrics and clinical epidemiology at South University in Savannah. Since 1996, he has served as the head of pediatric gastroenterology at Memorial Health in Savannah, where he teaches residents, medical students, nurse practitioner students, and physician assistant students. Additionally, he is adjunct faculty at Mercer University Medical School. Dr. Rittmeyer's research areas focus on childhood metabolic disorders and nutrition.
