PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

At Phalarope, we are committed to nurturing the next generation of global and community-health leaders, especially those who will work hand-in-hand with Indigenous and rural communities to drive lasting change.

Our internship and fellowship opportunities provide students and early-career professionals with experiential learning that integrates public health, development, community leadership, and systems strengthening. Participants gain real-world experience in program design, implementation, evaluation and community engagement, and work alongside rural communities, traditional midwives, youth leaders and health systems to expand access, improve outcomes and build local capacity.

What we offer:

  • Hands-on involvement in our maternal and child health, economic empowerment, or digital-access programs

  • Mentorship from experienced professionals across public health, community development and Indigenous leadership

  • Workshops and training in monitoring & evaluation, data for decision-making, intercultural competence and sustainable development

  • Year-long fellowships and summer internships that bridge academic knowledge with community practice

Impact:
By equipping emerging professionals with both theory and practice — rooted in culturally grounded, community-owned models, our alumni go on to energize rural health systems, empower Indigenous and local leaders, and contribute to sustainable development worldwide.

Join us to build your skills, amplify your impact and support community-led transformation.
