Nancy Louise Kerr, MD, MPH
Dr. Nancy Kerr is an obstetrician-gynecologist and public health physician with more than 35 years of clinical experience dedicated to advancing maternal and newborn health in diverse and resource-limited settings. She has practiced extensively in the southwestern United States, including long-standing work with Native American communities, and has served as a volunteer faculty member in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of New Mexico.
Dr. Kerr has also taught, conducted research, and implemented maternal health interventions in Papua New Guinea and Nepal, with a particular focus on reducing preventable maternal mortality. Over the course of her career, she has participated in the birth of approximately 10,000 babies worldwide.
She is the co-developer of a simple, externally applied, low-cost device for the treatment of postpartum hemorrhage, currently undergoing refinement and regulatory review, and serves as faculty for Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) courses through the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Kerr brings deep clinical expertise, global health leadership, and a strong commitment to equity to Phalarope’s Advisory Board.
